Kill Or Be Killed #9 Out Today, Online Preview Available Now!

The latest issue of Kill Or Be Killed is in stores today, from Ed Brubaker, Sean Phillips, and Elizabeth Breitweiser.  We see that Image Comics has just posted a four-page preview, showing that the story picks up with the last issue's ominous cliffhanger.

The Image website also shows a slight change to the cover: a blurb has been added to highlight the series' Eisner nominations -- four of the five nods we noted at the beginning of the month, one each for the book and its three creators, with the fifth nomination being for the Criminal 10th Anniversary Special.

Love this blog. Brubaker/Phillips are one of the best creative teams ever. Arguably, they are in Lee/Kirby or Claremont/Byrne territory in terms of quality and everlasting influence.

Do you know if Image ever plans on re-releasing those Criminal and Incognito omnibuses?

Thanks a bunch. Keep up the great work.

No idea, actually: I *have* read from Brubaker interviews that there are plans to bring Incognito back into print, but not sure about the hardcover deluxe editions.

Personally, I'd LOVE to see them back in print -- or better yet, released in new editions, because there was a good bit of duplicated text in one of the extra essays in the back of Criminal Deluxe Volume 1.

Thank you for the kind words! -- and sorry it took a few days to get back to you.

...but yeah, I'd agree about Brubaker & Phillips. Even if they're not always pushing the boundaries of what *can* be done in comics, like Lee & Kirby, they're raising the bar in terms of quality, particularly for crime comics.
